To cook pasta perfectly al dente, follow these steps:

  1. Use a large pot with plenty of water. A good rule of thumb is 4 quarts of      water for every pound of pasta.
  2. Bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat.
  3. Add  salt to the water. A tablespoon of salt per pound of pasta is a good      starting point.
  4. Add  the pasta to the boiling water and stir it to prevent sticking.
  5. Cook the pasta according to the package directions, but start checking it for doneness a few minutes before the recommended time.
  6. To test if the pasta is al dente, remove a piece from the pot and bite into      it. It should be firm to the tooth, with a slight resistance in the center.
  7. Drain the pasta in a colander and serve immediately with your favorite sauce.

Salting your pasta water is a crucial step in creating a flavorful and delicious pasta dish. Here's why:

Seasoning from the inside out: Salt penetrates the pasta as it cooks, seasoning it throughout rather than just on the surface. This creates a more balanced and flavorful dish.

Enhancing the pasta's natural flavors: Salt brings out the subtle flavors of the pasta itself, making it taste richer and more complex.

Balancing the sauce: Salt in the pasta water helps to balance the flavors of the sauce, preventing it from tasting too bland or one-dimensional.

Improving texture: Some believe that salt can help to prevent the pasta from sticking together and can also contribute to a slightly firmer, more al dente texture.

While some debate exists about the exact amount of salt needed, most chefs recommend adding a generous amount to the boiling water – enough to make it taste slightly salty.

Once opened store it in the refrigerator and consume within 2 days.
